Local computer repair, on your terms

I'm based in Grabill, and I cover Fort Wayne and the towns around it — New Haven, Leo, Huntertown, Auburn, Woodburn, Harlan, Angola, and the rest of Allen County and Northeast Indiana. (I grew up in Angola, so I'm out that way often.) Most of the time I'll come to your home. You can show me the problem exactly as you're experiencing it, and we'll work on a solution that fits. A lot of the time that's easier in person — I can see the printer it won't talk to, the WiFi that keeps dropping, the cables behind the desk — instead of you trying to describe it over the phone. If you're within 45 miles of Grabill, there's no travel charge. That covers Fort Wayne, Angola, and most of the towns in between. I work on Windows and Mac, desktops and laptops, new machines and old ones.

Not sure it needs a house call? A lot gets handled remotely

Plenty of the stuff people call about doesn't need me in the room at all. With your okay, I can connect to your computer remotely and we look at it together — you watch the whole time, and you can disconnect me whenever you want. It's $50/hr instead of $100, and a lot of it gets sorted the same day.

Remote is a good fit for the everyday things — you can't log into your email anymore, a printer that Windows suddenly stopped recognizing, a program that isn't working the way it used to, a password you can't get past, or a setup that's gotten cluttered and slow. It's also fine for the 'how do I…' questions — how to get your photos off your phone, how to use a program you just got, or just learning your way around something new. None of that is too small to ask about.

If it turns out the problem really does need eyes on the hardware, I'll tell you, and we'll set up a visit instead. I'm not going to bill you remote hours chasing something that needs a screwdriver.

How it works

1. Tell me what's going on. Call or text (260) 668-2867, or use the contact form. Just describe what it's doing — you don't need the technical words for it.

2. I'll talk it through with you — free. Sometimes the fix is simple enough that I can walk you through it on the phone at no charge. Other times I'll come to your house or connect remotely, whichever is faster for what you're dealing with.

3. You get honest options. I'll tell you what's wrong, what it'll take to fix, and roughly what it'll cost — before I start. If there's a cheaper way, or if you don't really need me for it, I'll say so.

4. I fix it, and I explain it. If something changes the scope or the cost partway through, I'll check with you first. No surprises on the bill.
