Common Questions
How much does computer repair cost?
$100/hr for in-home visits, $50/hr for remote support. Most jobs take 1-2 hours. I'll always give you an estimate before starting, and if anything changes mid-job, we discuss it first.
Should I repair my computer or buy a new one?
It depends on the age, the problem, and what you use it for. Sometimes an SSD upgrade and a cleanup can make a 5-year-old computer feel brand new for $150-250 — way less than replacing it. Other times, the hardware is failing and a new machine makes more sense. I'll give you an honest answer either way.
What happens when I contact you?
We'll talk through what's going on — no charge for the conversation. Sometimes the fix is simple and I can walk you through it over the phone. Other times I'll come to your home or connect remotely. If I find something that changes the scope or cost, I stop and talk to you about it before moving forward. No surprises.
Do you work on Macs?
Yes. Windows and Mac, desktops and laptops, new and old. Setup, troubleshooting, data transfer — whatever you need.
Can you recover my files?
In many cases, yes. If your hard drive hasn't physically failed, there's a good chance I can recover your documents, photos, and other files. I'll assess the situation and let you know what's realistic before we start.
What areas do you serve?
Fort Wayne, New Haven, Leo, Grabill, Huntertown, Woodburn, and surrounding areas across Northeast Indiana. I also do remote support — if we can solve it over the screen, I can help from anywhere.
Most visits run 1-2 hours. Free consultation — just tell me what's going on.
